The Beginning
First Georgia Banking Company was chosen as the name of a carefully planned financial services provider, "The first and foremost supplier of financial services to the north-western part of the State of Georgia." On April 14, 2003, a group of 15 entrepreneurs held the first executive committee meeting. Their vision was banking institutions in three separate but growing markets - Franklin, Carrollton and Bremen. With an initial capital stock investment of $17,000,000, the First Georgia Banking Company (FGBC) was created. FGBC became the first banking system in the State of Georgia to have operations in three counties on its first day of business.

Our Future

With future growth in Haralson, Carroll, and Heard counties supported by the proximity to Atlanta and dynamic markets such as Dalton (Whitfield county), Columbus (Muscogee county), Jefferson (Jackson county), Homer (Banks county), and Cornelia (Habersham county) FGBC is poised to achieve the growth of an exceptional community bank. These expansions will bring our philosophy of great customer service to markets across Georgia.
